Credit Risk Associate | Energy and Commodities

Join our Global Credit Risk team in Sydney. The Energy and Commodities team is looking for a new Associate. This team manages risk exposures across industries such as electricity and renewables, agricultural and bulk commodities, metals and oil and gas, while supporting Macquarie's broader commodities and global markets business.

What role will you play?

As an Associate, you will work closely and collaboratively with a team of senior approvers, management, and business stakeholders to manage a portfolio of counterparties, review requests, and new transactions. You will play an active role in the approval and management of a range of derivative, physical trading, and lending transactions across energy and commodity markets. You will work closely with other associates, analysts, and business stakeholders to assess and monitor risk and present findings to management for approval.

What you offer
  • Degree qualification in a related discipline, such as Business or Finance
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong Excel skills, ideally prior exposure to financial modelling
  • An understanding of Risk and the ability to interpret financial statements
  • Previous experience in a comparable role is desirable

About the Risk Management Group

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring, and reporting in relation to Macquarie's material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, internal audit, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk, and prudential, and central.
