Overview

We're looking for a PR Account Director who brings strong strategic thinking, media know-how, and a genuine passion for leading people and teams. This role thrives in a fast-paced agency setting, balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery. Our clients span government, not-for-profit and purpose‑driven organisations, and your work will help shape positive change and deliver impact where it matters most.

About the role: as PR Account Director, you'll lead integrated communications projects across earned, owned and shared channels, guiding both the work and the people delivering it. You'll play a senior role within our PR and Strategic Communications team, helping drive client outcomes, strengthen team capability, and build a positive, high‑performing culture. You'll collaborate with internal creative, digital, strategy and audience teams to ensure campaigns are aligned and effective, while building strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.

Role responsibilities
  • Lead a small team working across multiple PR and communications accounts
  • Provide day-to-day support, coaching and feedback to team members
  • Help shape ways of working and contribute to team planning and capability-building
  • Foster a strong, inclusive and values-led team culture
  • Develop and execute media strategies across traditional, digital, and social platforms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, content creators and media outlets
  • Pitch compelling stories and coordinate interviews, briefings, and events that generate high-value coverage
  • Design and oversee integrated campaigns and collaborate with creative, audience, digital and client management teams
  • Lead creation of clear and compelling communications materials, including plans, media releases and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Craft narratives aligned with client priorities and public interests that resonate across stakeholder groups
About you

We are looking for someone exceptional, not simply a box-ticker. Here's what we'd ideally like to see:

  • Extensive experience (6+ years) in PR or communications, ideally within an integrated agency
  • Exposure to government and not-for-profit clients, with an understanding of working in complex or regulated environments
  • Strong leadership, management, and mentorship skills
  • Excellent strategic communication, writing, editing, and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Comfortable operating independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, integrated agency environment
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with a passion for driving positive societal impact
