We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer - Womenswear FTC managing one of our largest portfolios in Smart Suiting/Tailoring to join Target's team In this role, you will demonstrate your passion for creativity to deliver a cohesive product range aligned with the Target product aesthetic and quality strategy. This entails working collaboratively with key stakeholders to create and deliver a customer-centric product range. Identify, interpret, and implement global and market trends to grow sales through great looking everyday products for a modern, relaxed lifestyle, articulated through effective communication (visual and verbal) and a high level of presentation skills.

1. Identify, interpret and implement trends using global trend and market research to add value through design and sales in line with Target handwriting.
2. Visually articulate and effectively communicate the direction for the season.
3. Present trend forecasts effectively, including research to support trends.
4. Maintain strong aesthetic taste and have an eye for the next trend that is commercial and can be bought in volume.
5. Create desirable and affordable products that are in line with Target's handwriting that are unique to the external market.
6. A thorough understanding of product materials and construction.
7. Develop product offshore with TAS sourcing and TAS design.
8. Ability to work confidently and autonomously with key stakeholders in merchandise and design, including KAS design.
9. Develop commercial product within cost structure that is fit for purpose.
10. Create visuals presentations to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
11. Create accurate and effective technical specification drawings/production art to deliver desirable samples and ultimately customer on-floor experience.
12. Brief and provide effective feedback to enable the TAS design team to deliver on key metrics such as print, pattern, and product.
13. Adhere to Target's Intellectual property requirements and processes.
14. Accurate and timely adherence to critical path and production processes.
15. Effective time management of workload and ability to plan and prioritise.

We're looking for an experienced, collaborative, and passionate Senior Designer who is obsessed with fashion retail and ideally has a strong background in womenswear and apparel with a focus on designing petites, larger sizes, and maternity. We are looking for someone who is driven and can identify, interpret, and implement trends using global trends and market to add value through design and sales in line with Target's handwriting.

Please note – that all applications must have a portfolio of relevant design work attached to be considered.

1. Tertiary qualification in Fashion Graphic Design, Textiles or Buying.
2. Minimum 7+ years of designing experience in a fast-paced preferably retail environment or supplier to DDS.
3. Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
4. A folio that demonstrates the ability to design products that are commercial and in line with Target Brand Aesthetic.
5. A technical understanding of product development, fabrics, garment fit & execution.
6. Experience working in a team environment.
7. Solid knowledge of print types and limitations within print execution.
8. Technical skills related to the area of product development, fabric, materials, and construction knowledge.
9. Transferable skills and ability to adapt to product types for general merchandise design.
10. Ability to develop products that are appealing to the Target customer.
11. High level of aesthetic taste displayed in relation to colour, composition, materials, coordination, and execution.
12. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
13. Collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with cross-functional senior leaders.
