About the role

The Risk & Pricing Data Science team applies quantitative and data science techniques to deliver innovative betting products to our large customer base(>2m); as well as helping the business understand, quantify, and make better decisions around risk. As the pioneers of Same Game Multi, Sportsbet has a proud history as a global trendsetter in this space.

The successful candidate will be highly numerate, and outcome focused, with excellent attention to detail. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the connection between their work and the commercial outcomes it drives or enables.

They will have knowledge of a broad range of statistical and data science methodologies, and the ability to both choose the right approach for the job and to articulate their choices.

Responsibilities include

Develop and refine data science models for the Risk & Pricing roadmap, handling everything from ideation and building to quality assurance and iteration.

Collaborate seamlessly with data science leads and cross-functional teams.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing project estimates and updates, and documenting progress in tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Apply commercial acumen to ensure our work delivers real business value.

Partner with tech teams to deploy models using MLOps best practices

Work well both independently and as part of a team.

About You

Got a knack for building, deploying, and maintaining Data Science and quantitative projects? We're looking for someone who's comfortable with tools like R, Python, SQL, AWS, and Databricks.

You're super detail-oriented and passionate about applying probability-based ideas to gambling, sports, racing, risk, and human behavior? You'll love interpreting data for both people and machines here.

You've got a solid grasp of statistical and computational methods for finding patterns, digging out insights, and making predictions from complex data.

You're agile and able to roll with different workflows and priorities, happy to receive feedback.

You take ownership of your work and are accountable.

Bonus points if you have a little gambling knowledge
