Your Role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic educators for the position of Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Assistant to join the staff of St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Bundaberg.

Positions Available for Immediate Commencement
  • Qualified Educator - Part-Time, continuing for 32 hpw
  • OSHC Educators - Casual, as required

The suitable application for a Qualified Educator will hold a minimum of a Diploma in Early Childhood, or be working towards. Certificate III in Early Childhood or similar may also be considered.

Responsibilities

As an Outside School Hours Care Assistant you will play a vital role in providing an engaging experience for children during after school periods. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with the delivery of quality education programs underpinned by My Time, Our Place Framework
  • Provide direct supervision and support to all children to participate in the program
  • Contribute to creating an inviting and safe environment which supports children in their wellbeing and learning
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the areas utilised by Outside School Hours Care students and staff are maintained
  • Develop awareness of and ensuring the health and safety of the students in your care, including appropriately supervising children at all times
About You

  • Qualifications at Certificate level or equivalent knowledge, qualifications and experience relevant to this role would be highly regarded

Mandatory Requirements
  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
  • A minimum Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent ( ACECQA approved qualifications ) is preferred.
  • Hold one of the following Child Protection competencies or willing to obtain:
    • CHCPRT025—Identify and report children and young people at risk
    • CHCPRT001—Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
    • CHCPRT026—Support the rights and safety of children and young people
    • CHCPRT002—Support the rights and safety of children and young people
    • CHCECE057—Use collaborative practices to uphold child protection principles
  • First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved) or willing to obtain
  • It is a requirement of the position that the successful applicant undertake a National Crime Check (Police Check) or provide details of a Police Check that is not more than six months old
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
