Want the flexible opportunity to work within 8am - 4pm while the children are at school or while studying? We run exciting activities such as arts and crafts, accessing the community, games and movies. We have an exciting program expanding opportunity to join the genU community team as a Disability Day Service Practitioner to support our clients in reaching their full potential while engaging in skill-building activities in and around Geelong, Vic.

As a Disability Day Service Practitioner, you will, but not limited to:

• Support clients in goal orientated learning, empowering them to push beyond their boundaries.
• Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support.
• Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.
• Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4.
• Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing.

• Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participants' abilities, strengths and circumstances.
• Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports.
• Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
• Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.
• Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

To be eligible, you must have or be willing to complete (please upload to your application if you have the below documents):

• Certificate 3 in Mental Health, Disability or similar;
• Current First Aid and CPR certification;
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain);
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
