
Aboriginal Youth Wellbeing Worker

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people in your community? This is your chance to be part of something meaningful. We're looking for a passionate and community-minded First Nations person to join our team in Bourke or Brewarrina NSW on Ngemba Country. This is a permanent, full-time role (75 hours per fortnight) where you'll be helping young people feel strong, supported and connected.
About the RoleAs an Aboriginal Youth Wellbeing Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting your mob and helping young people feel strong and connected. Your work might include:
- Encouraging young people to reach out for support and sharing ways to look after mental health in ways that make sense for your community.
- Providing warm, culturally safe guidance to help young people (aged 12–25) find the right services and support when they need it.
- Bringing people together through community activities that support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (this is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
- A qualification in Mental Health, Primary Health, Community Services, or a related area.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a sense of integrity and initiative.
- Great communication and people skills and the ability to manage your time well.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work.
