Position Description

Position - Catering Assistant

Location: Albury

Permanent Part time Position

Shift times - AM -630-1430 or 0700-1500

PM- 1600-2000

Pay Rate - $25 - $ 28 Per Hour

About The Role

As a Catering Assistant you will make a difference each and every day in providing healthy, hearty and delicious meals prepared by our Chef. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will support the Chef/ Chef Manager and your team to deliver a high quality catering service to our residents. This is a permanent position with shifts across a fortnightly roster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook
  • Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
  • Work with Care team to plate and deliver meals, ensuring familiarity with menus and the needs and preferences of individual residents within the home
  • Complete cleaning tasks in accordance with the cleaning schedule, filling in appropriate sign off sheets
  • Document resident's requirements and any "exceptional" changes which occurs for the resident on shift

About You
  • Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety
  • Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices) - Desirable
  • Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
  • Ability to operate standard domestic and industrial equipment
  • Availability to work AM & PM shifts
