Overview

About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Supervisor to join the team in Brisbane. This position will be based at our Qantas Drive Depot.

This position is to manage, plan and co-ordinate rail infrastructure construction works (eg structures, slab track works, civil works, earthworks, formation, drainage and site cleanup).

Position responsibilities
  • Ensure all work under their control is performed safely with due regard to environmental issues and complies with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) legislation
  • Supervise work groups and contractors in the construction of structures, slab track works, civil works, earthworks, formation and drainage works
  • Control and monitor the execution of the works, including inspections and audits, to ensure high quality standard
  • Develop, monitor and control programmes and budgets for construction of structures
  • Ensure all relevant documentation (safety documentation, production data, testing and inspection data, inventory use, project documentation) is completed and processed in a timely manner
About you
  • Ability to travel from time-to-time and night shift work when required by business needs
  • Extensive knowledge of QR's safety and environmental management systems for infrastructure construction and renewal
  • Strong leadership, people management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and alignment with Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours
