Northern Territory Veterinary Services is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Alice Veterinary Centre in Alice Springs. We offer full-time or part-time roles for passionate customer service and pet healthcare professionals.

The Practice: Our purpose-built, fully air-conditioned clinic features a large reception area, two surgical theatres, a spacious prep/treatment room, and separate dog and cat wards. We primarily focus on Small Animal and Equine care, and collaborate with local wildlife centres to treat native wildlife. Our team includes 7 Vets, 8 nurses, 3 receptionists, and a kennel hand.

The Position: Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing incoming calls and client interactions
  2. Assisting with patient admissions
  3. Booking appointments and managing practice software
  4. Processing payments and balancing tills
  5. Product sales and client education
  6. Stock management and ordering
  7. Data entry and administrative tasks
  8. Managing reminders and client correspondence
  9. Unpacking and stocking supplies
  10. Maintaining cleanliness of front and consultation areas
  11. Supporting administrative functions
  12. Handling email and phone inquiries
  13. Coordinating courier services
  14. Assisting with account enquiries
  15. Collaborating with veterinary and nursing teams for workflow efficiency

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 2-3 years' reception experience and a passion for pet care
  • Experience in the veterinary industry is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and pay attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn about animal health products
