John Fawkner is seeking a Hospital Coordinator to join our team on a Permanent Part-time basis for night shifts. Your clinical skills, leadership capabilities, and positive approach will ensure your success in this role.

John Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility offering surgical, medical, cancer, and critical care services. Equipped with advanced medical, surgical, and diagnostic technology, we focus on meeting the healthcare needs of our local community and surrounding regions.
The hospital has an established reputation as a leading healthcare provider, recognized in many specialties. We specialize in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, and Cancer, providing comprehensive onsite medical and surgical services with high standards of care.
As the largest private hospital in northwestern Melbourne with the only private 24-hour Emergency Department and Critical Care unit, we work with highly skilled visiting specialists offering subspecialty expertise.
John Fawkner Private Hospital has a longstanding tradition of providing quality healthcare to our community, veteran patients, and regional northwest Victoria.
As the Hospital Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
- Supporting and liaising with Nurse Unit Managers of wards and departments
- Assisting with staffing coordination
- Managing patient flow and planning operational processes
- Coordinating patient admissions and discharge planning
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives and safety standards
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Ability to manage competing demands and coordinate resources effectively
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Recent experience in bed management and patient flow
- Experience in staff coordination and allocation
- High computer literacy, including MS Office
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Leadership skills, including mentorship and coaching
