The Hills Shire Council, Australia Grace Children's Therapy Full time

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of our young community members? Discover your passion for helping young children and adolescents in our community to engage in meaningful activities.

When you join our team, you can enjoy the benefits of a well-structured organisation that enriches the lives of children with a disability, learning disorder or functional daily life challenges. Based in Castle Hill (NSW), Grace Children's Therapy is an established practice, serving the Sydney Hills District for over 17 years.

We are looking for open-minded, creative, energetic, and innovative community coaches who will embrace the ethos of Grace Children's Therapy and provide support as part of our Community Action Team. The Community Action Program has been uniquely designed through a functional and engaging occupational therapy lens to enhance the experience and outcomes of the participants that attend our practice.

Being passionate about changing the lives of children and embracing the complexity of the whole child is essential as this is the heart of our organisation. Be part of a team that values the essence of what is occupational therapy and the goal-oriented focus of achieving functional participation in the community. Our Community Action Coaches will be working with the purpose of providing support to the adolescents and young children within our service that have community-based goals or within our social group programs. The aim is to provide community-based coaching, working alongside our occupational therapist to facilitate opportunities and working towards meeting their goals. This could include coaching in the home, local community, shops, parks or playgrounds, attending our programs, or sporting and recreational venues.

  • Utilise our platform to ensure record keeping and notes are completed and accurate.

What you can expect:

  • To be part of our Community Action Team.
  • To be supported by our occupational therapists in reaching the clients' goals.
  • To engage and be part of the wider team, including our occupational therapy team and support staff.
  • For students studying occupational therapy, there is an opportunity to pursue a clinical pathway towards joining our team upon completion of your undergraduate degree in occupational therapy.
  • Opportunities for learning and development.
