The University of Adelaide is seeking a senior academic to provide leadership in research and education in the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher in pure mathematics with strong plans for future research and broad experience in teaching and postgraduate supervision. This role offers an opportunity for emerging or current academic leaders to join a vibrant team as we prepare to launch Australia's new university, Adelaide University, in January 2026. Ranked number 82 in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, Adelaide University combines strengths from the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia to deliver innovative curriculum, excellent student experiences, and world-class research.

In 2026, the mathematics teams from the foundation universities will merge into a new School of Mathematical Sciences. The research strengths include differential geometry, noncommutative geometry, complex geometry, partial differential equations, harmonic analysis, and mathematical physics. The team is dedicated to educational excellence and pedagogical innovation, with new coursework programs planned for 2026.
