Senior Officer - Education Futures Institute

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Education Futures Institute (EFI) in the Queensland Department of Education. EFI is a key system initiative in the department's education strategy, Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student, to empower departmental staff, educators, school and system leaders to build professional expertise through high quality, targeted capability development across their career. As a Senior Officer, you will play an important role in leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality, targeted professional learning.

The role is offered on a full-time temporary basis until 30 June 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, coordinating and delivering capability programs to meet key objectives and timelines.
  • Supporting program implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities to gather insights, support data-informed decision making, and embrace innovation including the use of digital tools and platforms.
  • Building and sustaining collaborative relationships with corporate and school-based staff, key internal and external stakeholders and partners to support capability programs and initiatives.
  • Supporting the administration and organisation of program activities, including communications, procurement, project monitoring and reporting.
  • Preparing documentation, reports, presentations and other written correspondence.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Understand the vision and strategic directions of the Department of Education and the role of capability development within this vision.
  • Demonstrate project management skills and the ability to drive new projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisation skills across a number of priorities and manage competing demands.
  • Communicate with a high standard of written and oral communication skills.
  • Enjoy working with a diverse team and stakeholders to deliver outcomes and make a positive impact in education.
