Boddington is one of the largest gold producers in Australia. Located 130km's from the Perth CBD, this is truly a unique mining operation. Working 80 hours per fortnight on a 5:2:4:3 Roster, you will have every second Friday off as an RDO and Public Holidays.

The Asset Management (AM) team at Boddington is primarily responsible for developing and executing structural asset assessments, prioritising remediation needs, and defining both short- and long-term repair strategies. This includes building upon the existing asset integrity management system (AIMS), budgeting, scoping, and reporting to support efficient asset planning and provide strategic insights that enhance plant performance.

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring structural designs, calculations, and installations related to asset integrity comply with statutory and safety requirements. You will apply your expertise as a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and technical authority to support the asset integrity team and site in resolving complex structural issues.

Key outcomes include

  • A significant contributor to the execution of the structural asset integrity program, using analytical insights to enhance reliability and reduce operational risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement, technical innovation, and the application of best practices in asset integrity management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements to support Newmont's ongoing license to operate.
  • Develop and maintain a cost-versus-risk profile to guide strategic business planning and decision-making (AIMS).
  • Ensure the structural asset integrity risk register is accurate, current, and effectively supports tracking and mitigation efforts.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by actively supporting Newmont's safety standards and health initiatives.
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of safe work procedures for all structural integrity activities.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of engineering documentation and records.
  • Provide expert guidance to resolve complex structural engineering issues in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with technical consultants and equipment suppliers.
  • Take a lead role in Asset Management initiatives, fostering engagement and alignment with site and global objectives.

Here is what we would need to see from you

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status and registration on the National Engineering Register (NER) preferred; membership with Engineers Australia required.
  • Strong understanding of Asset Integrity Management Systems (AIMS), reliability principles, data-driven insights & integrity condition assessment methodologies.
  • Working understanding with regulatory and statutory, standards.
  • Intermediate level of SAP transactional skills (creation and querying of notifications, work order status, extracting history, etc.).
  • Interpretation of drawings, reviewing and providing structural models , design criteria, engineering calculations and business partner data.
  • Significant on site experience in heavy industry in delivering asset integrity programs.
    Knowledge and experience with change management and power BI dashboard.
  • Experience using analytical tools and processes that improve Asset Management performance, reliability and safety, reducing operating costs and enhancing return on assets.
  • Ability to guide and influence with strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiatives in a complex and global organization.
  • Ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgment and critical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate progress on asset integrity progress, both written and verbal, and strong project management skills.
