Job Description

A Social Visits Volunteer who can make a meaningful difference - One visit at a time

Are you interested in tools and tinkering? Are you handy with wood or other crafty projects?

We have a client who misses working with tools and is looking for a mate to visit him at home in Braidwood. He would enjoy a volunteer to visit him, talk about tinkering, watch a DIY program, or perhaps build some simple wood craft projects together (hand built, not using tools).

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help improve quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, aimed at promoting connections between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older, have a National Volunteer Police Check (arranged and paid for by HammondCare), and a Working with Vulnerable People check.

We are happy to discuss suitable times during the week for a one-hour visit between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly or fortnightly depending on your availability.
