Overview

Location: Burleigh Heads, Queensland. Employer: Mygration Pty Ltd. This client is seeking a full-time Instructional Multimedia Designer for a base salary of $80,000–$85,000 per year, plus superannuation.


Responsibilities
  • Design and develop e-learning modules and multimedia content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate regulations into accessible learning materials.
  • Apply instructional design principles using ADDIE or SAM models and embed assessments for certification readiness.
  • Update existing e-learning content to reflect regulatory changes, such as ATO and ASIC updates.
  • Embed data tracking in learning programs by integrating LMS analytics to capture completion rates, assessment scores, and feedback.
  • Research internal and external program context and monitor industry trends (e.g., microlearning, virtual reality) to enhance training efficacy.
  • Advise management on training options and cost-effective digital strategies for staff upskilling and client certifications.
  • Foster a learning culture by creating a reusable content library for rapid deployment across client projects.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Digital Media, Educational Technology, or related field (AQF Level 7+).
  • Portfolio requirement: Submit 3+ samples demonstrating interactive learning modules (e.g., SCORM packages, video demos).

Technical Proficiencies
  • Design software: Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator); Articulate Storyline; Captivate.
  • Data and analytics: LMS administration (Moodle, Canvas); xAPI; competency assessment tools.
  • Instructional models: ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy; adult learning principles.

Soft Skills
  • Stakeholder negotiation for brief scoping.
  • Visual storytelling for complex compliance topics.
  • Critical analysis of learning efficacy metrics.

Performance Metrics
  • Content effectiveness: 90%+ learner satisfaction and 85%+ assessment pass rates.
  • Punctuality: 100% of projects delivered within regulatory deadlines.
  • Innovation: Annual integration of two or more emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven simulations).
