The Payroll Agency has partnered with a very large retail business on the recruitment of their new Payroll Project Lead for a 12 month FTC.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager who is amazing, you will be leading your own team of Payroll Project Officers to ensure the project goes smoothly. They are an incredible bunch of people and you will love working with them.

This role will be hands on implementing their new payroll system and leading the project team:

  • Lead the entire implementation of the new payroll system, ensuring that all modules are configured and optimised.
  • Design, coordinate, and execute comprehensive unit testing processes to ensure the system meets all functional and technical requirements.
  • Identify and promptly resolve any defects with the new system.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to the wider payroll team and other stakeholders, equipping them effectively to use the new system before the go-live phase.
  • Manage and conduct parallel pay runs to compare results between the old and new systems, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Oversee and execute various testing phases to validate the system's performance.
  • Continuously configure and maintain the new system's payroll module, ensuring that all payroll processes, calculations, and policies are correctly set up and functioning.
  • Ensure that all pay policies are accurately reflected in the new system, including leave entitlements, overtime, deductions, and other payroll-related policies.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues that arise during the implementation and testing phases.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders from the People & Culture and Finance departments to ensure that the project aligns with business needs and is delivered on time.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all processes, configurations, and testing outcomes for future reference and audits.

They expect you to have:

  • Hands on implementation of any large payroll system.
  • Strong payroll processing knowledge (you don't have to have processed payroll recently but you know how systems affect payroll processing).
  • Can go into their offices in the Sydney CBD 3 days a week - non-negotiable however, flexible with time.

In return you will receive:

  • Cheeky free products
  • $150k + Super - maybe a little flex here.
  • Convenient location close to all public transport links.
  • Amazing culture, super stable team and wonderful management. You will love working for them

This could absolutely extend to longer and even potentially a permanent role if you want it
