We are seeking a Security Systems Engineer to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and infrastructure. The role involves working closely with our security team to implement and maintain security measures compliant with Australian Government security standards, including the PSPF and ISM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing security measures to protect systems and infrastructure, gaining foundational security experience.
  • Support security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, learning risk mitigation techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy security solutions, gaining project experience.
  • Monitor security systems and assist in incident response, developing incident handling skills.
  • Contribute to security policies and procedures, understanding policy development processes.
  • Support internal teams on security best practices, learning from mentors.

Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.

A Day in the Life

A typical day involves reviewing security logs, analyzing incidents, conducting security assessments, participating in team meetings, and researching emerging threats and technologies to stay current.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
  • Experience with AWS products and services.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, C++.
