Our Energy Minerals Division offers high-quality, independent coal analysis and services to many Australian and international coal companies. We have NATA-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) coal laboratories servicing all major coal ports in Australia and are involved in superintending coal exports overseas, quality control at mine sites and power plants, and borecore evaluation. Our technical services include mechanical sampling design and commissioning for all bulk particulate materials.
Job DescriptionStep into a key leadership role as Mine Site Supervisor, managing the full operation of our on-site coal testing laboratory at Byerwen. You'll play a vital part in ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency, while leading a skilled team in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the SSE in monitoring and managing compliance with the Qld CMH&S Act and Regulations
- Identifying and reporting hazards, inspections, and SAO's to the Byerwen System (R-Sured)
- Recording, investigation, and reporting procedures
- Demonstrating visible safety leadership
- Completing all incident investigations related to the onsite laboratory to identify root causes and adjust work practices accordingly in a timely manner
- Ensuring familiarity with, and compliance to, the Environmental Authority (EA) and the Plan of Operations (PoO)
- Maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders including employees, contractors, customers, suppliers, government agencies, neighbors, and the community
- Managing procurement and freight of parts and services to ensure fixed plant and equipment services are delivered
- RII competencies for light vehicle and laboratory equipment S1,2 & 3 G2
- Previous experience operating onsite laboratories
- Proficiency in MS Office, including basic spreadsheets
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in all aspects of laboratory operations
