The role

As a Senior WHS Advisor, you will provide expert guidance and deliver strategic health and safety programs to foster a safe and compliant workplace. The role involves developing and implementing policies, driving continuous improvement, and cultivating a culture of risk awareness and high-performance safety practices aligned with WHS legislation.

Operating within a complex regulatory environment, the Senior WHS Advisor partners with stakeholders to address WHS risks and trends, manage incident response, and ensure initiatives are adopted effectively across the organisation. The role requires a proactive approach to influence change, build engagement, and deliver practical solutions that support a healthy and safe workforce.

What you will bring to the role

• Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
• Advanced knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory compliance, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical solutions.
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills to anticipate emerging safety risks and proactively implement preventive measures.
• Commitment to cultivating a safety-first culture by leading initiatives that promote accountability, awareness and continuous improvement across all levels of the organisation.

What is an essential requirement:

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and Australian and international standards and experience in providing expert WHS advice and support within high-risk operational teams and environments
