Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is expanding its Emergency Medicine Department and is seeking to appoint an additional 2 Staff Specialists in Emergency Medicine. Relocation and incentive information We offer a Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme with up to $10,000 in the first 12 months plus up to $10,000 each year thereafter in fortnightly payments. Relocation support is also provided as part of the package.

About Armidale Rural Referral Hospital

Armidale Hospital is a ninety-nine bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services. A busy emergency department, a Level 3 Close Observation Unit, mental health unit and renal dialysis unit. The referral community of the area is 55,200. Medical and surgical services span respiratory, cardiac, chemotherapy, renal, palliative care, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology and ophthalmology. The hospital is modern and well-equipped with recent developments.

Qualifications
  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Emergency Medicine
  • Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
  • Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public.
  • Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings.
  • Evidence of being a manager, including ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
  • Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance.
  • Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health.
