Summa Health System is seeking an RN for the Regional Float Pool to support inpatient units across Summa Health Akron and Barberton Campuses. The role includes providing, coordinating and/or delegating nursing care and managing resources to deliver care for patients, families, and the community, with the goal of attaining, maintaining and restoring optimum health. Fundamental nursing knowledge is guided by evidence and nursing theory.
The RN may staff Inpatient Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care, and Behavioral Health units, and may supplement staffing in other areas as needed according to skill and competency.
Responsibilities- Support staffing across Inpatient Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care, and Behavioral Health units on Summa Health Akron and Barberton Campuses.
- Provide, coordinate and/or delegate nursing care and manage resources to deliver care for patients and families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and safe care delivery.
- Adapt staffing to unit needs and demonstrate flexibility across units as assigned.
- Formal Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a school accepted for candidacy status by an accrediting body.
- Current license: Licensed to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio.
- Experience and Training Required: One (1) year of related RN experience required for the specialty in which the Regional Float Pool RN is primarily assigned. Specialty areas include Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care, and Behavioral Health. Additional related experience and/or preparation may be required for designated units.
- Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: Must complete specialty-specific competency-based orientation pathway. Requires full range of motion and ability to lift/move patients, standing and walking for extended periods, corrected vision and hearing, and ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours. Exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other hazards. Maintain current Basic Life Support; additional certifications may be required (e.g., ACLS, NIH, NVCI).
- Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and respect their needs for self-respect and dignity.
- Physical Demands: Exerts pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, or 10-20 pounds continuously to move objects.

Salary: $56.00/hr base pay. The posted range represents base salary; bonuses or differentials may apply. Final offers depend on years of experience, location, and internal equity. This range reflects full base salary; hiring at the maximum is not typical.
