We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Controller to join the Perth Team In this role, you will ensure the integrity of materials data within Materials Management Systems from identification of requirement through to final delivery.

Project: Perth Women and Babies Hospital

Webuild is delivering the design and construction of the New Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. The project, commissioned by the Western Australia Government, aims to replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and expand healthcare services for women, children, and their families in Western Australia. It will transform the capacity of two key healthcare campuses: Fiona Stanley Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and managing Purchase Requisitions in SAP
  • Supporting the project team to ensure materials availability aligned with the construction schedule and constructability requirements
  • Planning and forecasting material needs to ensure effective allocation and reporting for delays and upcoming requirements
  • Timely receipt of materials into SAP
  • Managing materials and equipment received, handled, and issued through the project yard and sites
  • Inspecting and verifying materials and documentation for compliance with technical and commercial requirements
  • Issuing materials and equipment to site and managing returns to the yard to ensure system accuracy
  • Serving as the site contact to assist the Material Manager, Procurement Manager, and Expediting Coordinator for ongoing project reporting

What you will bring to the team:

  • Experience with contemporary material management systems, preferably SAP
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects and managing supplier relationships
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of construction materials and services industry
  • Understanding of cost and stock control
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards high standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • A strong commitment to teamwork
