The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is "exceptional care, healthier lives." SESLHD provides services in the Central Sterilization Services Department with responsibilities for handling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilization, and circulation of Reusable Medical Devices throughout Prince of Wales Hospital. The Sterilisation Technician Grade 3 will perform the tasks of a Sterilisation Technician Grade 2 and assist the Central Sterilizing Services Manager in carrying out the functions of the Sterilizing Department and support and guide staff in their daily work routines.

Selection Criteria
  • Certificate in Sterilisation Technology
  • Ability to prioritise work within established routines with accountability and discretion
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, individually or in a small team
  • Sound communication skills
  • Motivation to work independently to meet deadlines and maintain standards according to policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with strong organisational skills and knowledge of National and International Standards for Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices
