At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.

Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.

The Opportunity
Are you an experienced contract management professional ready to play a leading role in shaping the future of South Australia's infrastructure? This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a senior position where your work will directly support the delivery of high-value building projects across the state.

As Senior Contract Manager within our Building Projects team, you'll take the lead on the administration and strategic oversight of complex procurement contracts. From early planning through to project completion, you'll be responsible for ensuring contracts are aligned with legislative and commercial obligations, deliver value for money, and drive outcomes that benefit the South Australian community.

Your role will be pivotal in advising on contract strategy, negotiation, and risk management --working alongside legal, finance, project delivery teams and external stakeholders to navigate challenges and ensure accountability at every stage. You'll bring a strong working knowledge of contract law and government procurement frameworks, and you'll apply this expertise to foster compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This is more than just a technical contract management role --it's a leadership opportunity. You'll be empowered to influence decision-making, strengthen partnerships with key contractors and suppliers, and support the successful delivery of projects that leave a lasting legacy for our state.

If you're motivated by meaningful work and thrive in a collaborative, high-performing environment, we invite you to bring your knowledge, professionalism, and strategic thinking to this important position.

About You
You're a strategic leader and trusted advisor who brings both expertise and integrity to contract management. With a strong track record in overseeing complex, high-value contracts, you're known for your ability to navigate risk, drive results, and build genuine partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Your professional strengths include:

Extensive experience in managing end-to-end contract processes, from procurement strategy to contract execution and performance oversight.

Sound knowledge of contract law, statutory obligations, and government procurement frameworks --paired with the judgement to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence decision-makers, manage risk, and resolve high-stakes issues with clarity and composure.

A forward-thinking mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and public sector value.

You thrive in fast-paced, complex environments where strategic thinking and collaboration are key. You're ready to take the next step in your career - leading with purpose, shaping outcomes, and making a meaningful impact on the infrastructure that supports South Australians every day.
