The Opportunity

Inner West Council seeks a dedicated individual to join our Building Certification team as a Building Certification Cadet. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about assessing, inspecting, and certifying building work.

You will manage customer requests, issue Certificates, and conduct mandatory inspections as part of this 12-month supported program.

What Is The Traineeship

This 12-month supported program provides continuous assistance, on-the-job training, and formal education, culminating in a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours).

You will work towards achieving specified competencies, complete training and assessments, and maintain a training record.

About The Role

The cadet role involves assisting building certifiers with site inspections to ensure construction complies with approved plans and regulations. It offers a pathway to becoming a licensed building certifier, requiring formal qualifications and experience.

Remuneration

From $827.40 per week + superannuation.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Working towards a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) over 12 months
  • Assisting with application triage and assessment for Council initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and keyboard skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Managing customer inquiries and complaints
