Job Description

We currently have a new exciting career opportunity for an experienced Senior Procurement Category Manager to join the NRMA Procurement Team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will effectively manage multiple procurement projects over a broad range of procurement categories. The role will ensure risk mitigation through effective contracting and generating the best commercial outcome for the NRMA.

What You'll Do

  1. Lead and manage a pipeline of end-to-end procurement projects within your assigned categories.
  2. Identify and implement category strategies to optimize business efficiency.
  3. Define and deliver a range of category management plans.
  4. Integrate the category management plans into the overall procurement strategy, annual budget, and organisational KPIs.
  5. Ensure procurement activities are aligned with NRMA policies and business strategies.
  6. Regular and effective internal stakeholder engagement and advice to agree and implement procurement projects.
  7. Lead supplier negotiations, ensuring value for money and compliance with NRMA processes, procedures, and policies.
  8. Understand the current baseline expenditure profile including all the drivers that make up that expenditure for all assigned projects within the assigned categories of spend.

What You'll Bring

  1. 7+ years procurement experience with primary accountability for end-to-end procurement processes.
  2. Extensive experience within a Strategic Procurement function, including hands-on Category Management experience.
  3. Category management competency and experience in IT and Corporate Services categories would be highly regarded.
  4. Proven category management competency and experience in a range of indirect categories is essential.
  5. Contract Management experience essential including a proven ability to formulate contracts and schedules to contracts.
  6. Leadership, ability to coach and develop stakeholders, manage performance and achieve objectives.
  7. Strong influencing skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  8. Procurement/Business acumen combined with highly developed strategic and commercial skills.
  9. Strong negotiation and communications skills.
