What is the Role?

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Assistant Store Manager for our Warrnambool store, working a rotating roster. You will play a pivotal role in:

  • Leading and coaching a team of passionate retail professionals
  • Driving sales performance and customer service excellence
  • Embedding operational consistency across your region
  • Supporting a people-first culture aligned with our core values

The Assistant Store Manager role is a dynamic retail leadership position, where your retail expertise and leadership skills will support our Store Manager in driving store performance, fostering a customer-centric culture, and uplifting team capability, all while living our Early Settler Values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Store Manager to drive sales performance and achieve targets through effective selling of merchandise
  • Assist customers in realizing their home vision—be savvy with styling solutions, provide recommendations, upsell, and cross-sell based on customer needs
  • Coach and guide the retail sales team to meet targets and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Support daily store operations including rostering, financial performance, administrative tasks, recruiting, and onboarding
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and customer service targets, thereby driving store performance

Skills and Experiences:

With a strong retail background, commercial acumen, and passion for customer service, you thrive in a team environment and know how to bring out the best in people. You bring energy, resilience, and a hands-on approach to your work — ready to step into retail leadership

  • 2-3+ years of retail sales experience with a proven track record of achieving targets
  • Strong commercial acumen and results-driven mindset
  • Ability to coach, guide, and motivate teams
  • Resourceful with a can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Able to balance customer care, team development, and administrative tasks
  • Interest in home styling, furniture, or creating welcoming living spaces is a plus

  • Ability to undertake lifting and work in a physical environment
