The opportunity

Our highly valued client is a large, nationally distributed federal agency. As part of a digital transformation program and insourcing of their digital platforms, they are seeking multiple Senior Full Stack Developersto build large scale applications (React, responsive web and mobile apps, API's) in an agile, cloud-first environment. The team operates using Scaled Agile (SAFe).

  • Richmond or Geelong location plus hybrid work-from-home
  • 12-month initial contract + 12-month extension, rates fully negotiable
  • Ability to obtain AGSVA baseline clearance
  • Hybrid flexibility 1-2 days in office

The role

As a Senior Full Stack Developer your duties will include :

Implementing new systems, applications, and integrations, adhering to industry best practices and architectural principlesDesign and implementation of software and CI / CD pipelines to solve complex problems including writing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and building containerised applications for KubernetesPlay a pivotal role in our project team, using an agile development frameworkDocumenting all design and development workActively participate in code reviews – both as the reviewer and the reviewee to ensure coding quality and standards are maintainedEnsuring that any software produced meets the agency's security requirements and standardsEnsuring that any software produced meets accessibility expectationsCollaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads, and other IT teams to resolve issues to ensure solutions are viable and fit for purposeCollaborate closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure effective test coverage early in the development cycle utilising a shift-left approachEnsuring that solutions are pragmatic, value for money, and deliver on their intended purpose

Skills and experience

Significant experience as a full stack developer or senior developer in front-end and back-end frameworks such as ReactJS, AngularJS, Typescript and GolangJava and PythonImplementing and deploying code in SQL and NoSQl databases (Postgres and MySQL) would be highly regarded with Go and TypescriptExperience building containerised applications for deployment into Kubernetes using Docker and Helm on AWSExperience writing accessible web applications using React and TypeScriptExpertise using DevOps practices, including creating CI / CD pipelines with GitHub / GitLab and tooling such as Artifactory and HashiCorp VaultAbility to write automated testing including unit, component, integration and functional tests, and to work closely with QA teams to facilitate integration and end-to-end testing (Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Testify)Strong familiarity with Cloud infrastructure in AWS, including writing Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Terraform nice to have
