Senior Physiotherapist - Critical Care/Acute Cardiorespiratory (502065) role at Department of Health, Tasmania.

The Team

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Physiotherapist, with a passion for acute cardiorespiratory patient care to join our team, of over 30 working across the North West Region of Tasmania.

The Role

The Senior Physiotherapist - Critical Care/Acute Cardiorespiratory will:

  • Provide Physiotherapy services to cardiorespiratory patients of the Hospital's North West region.
  • Provide and maintain optimal specialist inpatient physiotherapy service to the inpatient wards of North West Regional Hospital.
  • Assess, plan and implement treatment programs for cardiorespiratory patients requiring physiotherapy.
  • Act as a physiotherapy resource in designated area of physiotherapy.
  • Work with a broader physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team to improve processes and procedures within THS-NW, informed by current evidence.
  • Lead quality improvement projects and service development.
  • Supervision and support of level 1-2 physiotherapists, and physiotherapy students as required.
You will need
  • High level cardiorespiratory physiotherapy experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a complex work environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated clinical competencies relating to the principles of assessment and management of cardiorespiratory patients requiring physiotherapy care.
Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver's Licence
Details of appointment

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 10 November 2025 until 9 November 2026. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.

Salary and benefits

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution included.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
  • Access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other eligible benefits.

Allowances: In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
