Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health

This locum opportunity in Halls Creek offers the chance to provide critical mental health support in a unique and rewarding setting.

About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health (SRN 3), you will take on a leadership role in mental health triage, acute assessment, crisis intervention, and case management. This position requires a dynamic and adaptable nurse who is confident in working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a remote hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting mental health triage and acute assessments
  • Performing risk assessments and developing safety plans
  • Delivering crisis intervention and stabilisation strategies
  • Providing ongoing case management and care coordination
  • Supporting and mentoring other team members in best practices
  • Collaborating with hospital teams and external services for seamless client care

What We're Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration
  • Experience in mental health triage, crisis response, and case management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work in remote settings
  • Ability to manage complex mental health presentations
  • Commitment to culturally safe care, particularly in Aboriginal communities
  • Current Police Clearance, Working with Children Check & Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
