About the Role
We're looking for a practical, hands-on person with a good attitude who is comfortable working in the sun and enjoys physical, outdoor work (ideally farming background).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the government departmentas a Forest Ranger (A03) and be part of a team managing Queensland's forests.
  1. Contract: Full-Time, until 30 June 2026 (potential extension) | 36.25 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
  2. Location: Mundubbera or Maryborough
What you'll do:
  • Assess tree selection, harvesting sites and other forestry operations
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards to support sustainable forest management
  • Spend your days outdoors, travelling through Queensland's forests
  • Assist with preparing documents and proposals
  • Operate vehicles and equipment (training provided)
  • Work closely with industry, local landholders and your team
What we're looking for:
  • A rural or farming background or experience in hands-on, physical work
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions
  • A good attitude and willingness to learn
  • Physically fit and ready for practical fieldwork
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
Mandatory requirements:
  • Current C Class driver's licence (essential)
  • Australian work rights and ability to pass background checks
