About the role:

We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual to support logistics and operational delivery across both port and rail environments. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight, while building strong relationships with customers, service providers, and regulatory bodies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating daily operations across depot, port, transport, and rail to meet service and revenue targets
  • Ensuring compliance with customer requirements and relevant regulations (e.g. NHVR, customs, biosecurity, port standards)
  • Creating and processing purchasing transactions, quotes, and freight charges in line with service level agreements
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Analysing performance data and implementing improvements to drive service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting effective planning and reporting processes

About You:

You're a strong communicator with hands-on experience in logistics, ideally across both port and rail settings. You're adaptable, organised, and solutions focused. You'll also bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or at least two years of experience in a similar logistics role
  • Solid knowledge of NHVR, customs, and biosecurity regulations
  • Experience using transport or cargo management systems
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with customers and operational stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and communication skills – both written and verbal
  • High-level interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
  • Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Flexibility to work at short notice, including irregular hours and weekends when required
