In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with WA legislation and Awards, maintaining accurate records, resolving queries, and supporting employees and managers. The role includes keeping payroll systems updated, assisting with audits, and upholding the organisation's commitment to care, integrity, and community values.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Payroll Officer will manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring all payments are timely, accurate, and compliant with Western Australian legislation and industrial instruments. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to interpret employment conditions, handle payroll queries professionally, and support internal audits and system updates. This role is essential in supporting a values-based workplace and maintaining trust across the organisation.
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls in compliance with superannuation, PAYG and WA State Awards.
- Maintain payroll systems and records, test software upgrades, and contribute to internal audits and reporting.
- Provide accurate advice to employees and managers on payroll matters, resolve queries, and demonstrate alignment with Catholic workplace values.
You are an organised, detail-focused payroll professional who values accuracy, integrity, and service. You are confident interpreting Awards, working with payroll systems, and supporting others with empathy and professionalism.
- Certificate IV in Payroll (or similar) with a minimum of 2 years experience in Payroll.
- Strong knowledge of WA payroll legislation and common law contracts and proficiency in systems such as MYOB.
- Current National Police Clearance and an alignment with the Catholic ethos.
