THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager, or a high-performing supervisor ready to advance, to oversee the onsite delivery of substation & BESS infrastructure projects across Queensland. This position operates on a Fly-In / Fly-Out (FIFO) or Drive-In / Drive-Out (DIDO) model with a 10 : 4 roster. You will play a key leadership role in one of Australia's most vital infrastructure programs.

This role goes beyond mere project oversight; it offers you the opportunity to influence safety, culture, and quality in projects that contribute to our renewable energy future.

Some of the key responsibilities include :

  • Lead field teams and subcontractors to deliver project milestones safely, on time, and to spec.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations including resource planning, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Champion a Zero Harm culture - lead by example in all safety and environmental practices.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure smooth delivery and transparent communication.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, contractual, and Downer standards.

ABOUT YOU

You're a practical leader who thrives in complex site environments and brings out the best in your team. With a solid grounding in power infrastructure and a commitment to safety, you know how to get things done, without cutting corners.

  • Trade or tertiary qualifications (Electrical / Civil preferred); Certificate IV in WHS is a bonus.
  • Strong site-based experience in substation or power transmission projects.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and deliver to tight timelines.
  • A collaborative mindset with great communication and stakeholder management skills.
