Overview

The Managed Services Engineer will play a key role in delivering high-quality support and project services to Kytec's managed services clients. This role requires strong Cisco networking expertise and a proven ability to manage complex environments within an MSP setting. A current CCNP certification is mandatory, reflecting advanced knowledge in routing, switching, and enterprise networking.

Base pay

Base pay range: A$80,000.00/yr - A$100,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide L2/L3 technical support for client environments, with a primary focus on Cisco networking (routing, switching, SD-WAN, wireless, firewalls).
  • Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimise client networks to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex incidents, escalating to vendors as required.
  • Contribute to the delivery of network projects, migrations, and upgrades across Cisco and Meraki solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Service Desk and other engineers to ensure timely resolution of client issues.
  • Document technical solutions, changes, and incident resolutions to support knowledge management.
  • Participate in an on-call roster to provide after-hours support as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Cisco technologies, industry trends, and security best practices.
Skills & Experience
  • Mandatory: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
  • 5+ years' experience in network engineering, preferably within a managed services environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and firewalls.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, SD-WAN, FTD/ASA and network security solutions such as Cisco Umbrella.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking and Office 365 connectivity is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
