About The Opportunity

As a Spot Market Trader you'll play a key role in delivering value through real-time trading across our diverse portfolio of renewable and low-emission assets, including hydro, wind, solar, and gas. With our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) coming online this year, you'll also help shape how we optimise storage in response to market dynamics and support Queensland's energy transformation. Working closely with the Spot Market Manager and reporting through to the General Manager of Energy Markets, you'll help drive trading outcomes by combining sharp market insight, operational discipline, and strong stakeholder collaboration.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role, ideal for someone who thrives in high-pressure environments and is passionate about contributing to Queensland's clean energy future. To meet the needs of the market, this role is based in Brisbane CBD and operates on a rotating 24/7 roster alongside other experienced traders.

About You

• Your previous education includes relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Bachelor in economics, commerce, mathematical or related discipline)
• You will bring demonstrated industry experience in energy or financial market trading
• Your previous experience includes interpreting and working in a regulatory environment with the ability to provide analysis to contribute to trading strategies
• You will have a thorough understanding of operational power generation assets and fuel management
• You have a natural curiosity that ensures you keep up to date with trends influencing the energy sector and a track record for developing strategies in response to change
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to reinforce commercial decisions
• You are a team player, open and transparent with your colleagues and understand the value that many touchpoints with stakeholders brings to CleanCo
• You have a passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of low emission, renewable, reliable, and affordable energy for Queensland.
