We are working with a growing small-scale manufacturing business with big ambitions. As they move into our next phase of growth, we are looking for an experienced and driven operational leader to oversee our manufacturing operations, champion efficiency, and foster a high-performance culture. This is a hands-on leadership role where adaptability, people skills, and a passion for continuous improvement are key.

Position Overview

The Head of Manufacturing will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our production, supply chain, and operational functions. This role will ensure that our manufacturing processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality. We are seeking someone who is open-minded, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of manufacturing and operations to meet production targets, cost objectives, and quality standards.
Drive operational excellence through process improvements, cost optimisation, and innovative problem-solving.
Oversee production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain coordination.
Build, lead, and inspire a skilled operational team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Implement and maintain safety, compliance, and quality control procedures.
Collaborate closely with leadership to align operational strategy with business goals.
Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies for efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
Support change management initiatives as the business grows and adapts to market demands.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a senior operations or manufacturing leadership role, ideally within a growing small-to-medium manufacturing business.
Strong track record in people management, team building, and fostering positive workplace culture.
Open-minded and adaptable, with the ability to lead change and embrace new ideas.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality systems.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) highly regarded.
Hands-on, practical leadership style with the ability to work closely with teams at all levels.
