About The Role

The purpose of the Teacher Librarian is to enhance and support the school's teaching and learning program, foster a love of reading, manage resources, guide staff and students in information literacy, and develop information literacy. The Teacher Librarian will collaborate with teachers and leaders across campuses to design and deliver effective library, information and digital literacy programs. They will form collegial relationships with other campus Teacher Librarians.

The role supports and implements the Vision for Teaching and Learning by advocating for effective library and information services and programs that develop lifelong learners and a love of reading. As information specialists, they provide access to information resources through efficient systems for organizing, retrieving and circulating resources.

The Teacher Librarian will help develop a reading culture, literacy skills, and responsible digital citizenship. The role includes managing and delivering library services to students and staff.

This is an ongoing (1.0 FTE) position with a fixed-term term of employment from Tuesday, 27 January 2026 to Friday, 19 January 2029. The position is based at the Donnybrook campus, with a leadership allowance at level 1 and a 0.4 time release.

Requirements For The Role
  • Bachelor of Education degree or higher
  • Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
