Tasmanian Health Services – Hospitals South are seeking a motivated Senior Occupational Therapist with an interest in older people, to join the Community Transition Care Program.
The Team:
The Occupational Therapy Service includes over 90 team members consisting of occupational therapists and assistants, play specialists, diversional therapists, carpenter, and administration officers. We work across acute, sub-acute and community settings, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, the largest teaching Hospital in Tasmania.

The Community Transition Care Program (CTCP) provides short term care (up to 12 weeks), delivered at home, to optimise the functioning and independence of older people after a hospital stay. The team consists of nursing, allied health and case managers with brokered support services. As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will deliver high quality, person-centred and goal-oriented services, while supporting junior staff and allied health assistants. You will be expected to work closely with the CTCP interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective services with a focus on continuous improvement.
You will need:
- Significant experience working with older people
- An ability to supervise and support staff
- A passion for service improvement

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary:$110,425 to $126,703 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
Salary Packaging:
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Registration – if required for clinical work.
