Teacher - Early Childhood Education
We are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - Early Childhood Education for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The West Coast Language Development Centre (WCLDC) caters for around 300 students from kindergarten to year 2. We are situated across 4 sites in Padbury, Hamersley, Heathridge and Quinns Rocks. Teachers can be located at any site and may move across sites over time. New teachers are provided with intensive, specific training and induction to develop skills and understanding of DLD and how best to meet the needs of the students. This support is ongoing and provided by mentor teachers, collaborative partners, and speech pathologists.

The Role
The WCLDC is a specialist school that provides early intervention for children with Developmental Language Disorder. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about teaching young children and can create engaging, safe learning environments that cater to the individual needs of each child. Experience in the early years or an Education Support setting would be ideal.
Our staff work in an environment that is highly collaborative and reflective, where we work as a team to get the best results for each child. We value teachers who have the desire to acquire specialist knowledge in the area of language development and its impact on student learning and social emotional well-being. Teachers who are committed to explicit teaching, implementing whole school programs and possess a strong evidence-based approach will be highly regarded.
We are seeking teachers who ideally have strong classroom management and positive behaviour support skills to successfully engage students in their learning. The ability to build strong relationships with the students and families is an important part of the role. We teach all areas of the curriculum with a focus on oral language, literacy and numeracy.
