Process Operations Supervisor

The Process Operations Supervisor will oversee daily operational activities at the Mt Holland concentrator, including supervision of operational staff and contractors, and will develop, achieve, and improve monthly and annual production targets (crushing & wet plant throughput, metal recovery, and plant availability and utilisation) while adhering to safety, environmental, operational, and engineering standards.

This is a permanent full-time position on an 8 days on/6 days off, 7 nights on/7 days off FIFO roster at our Mt Holland site.

The Process Operations Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and the efficient operation of processing facilities to meet production targets.

• Provide a safe work environment and implement/compliance with SHE&C plans, management systems and processes within the mine.
• Actively participate in establishing a health and safety culture.
• Comply with health, safety, environmental and regulatory policies and ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are reported.
• Develop operating standards, methods and procedures related to production and operational tasks.
• Plan, schedule and implement strategies to achieve the department's long-term targets.
• Coordinate site leadership activities to ensure continuous ore supply and meet concentrate production, plant reliability and cost targets.
• Contribute to strategic and annual plans, monitor performance and provide business analysis for the operation.
• Resolve short- to medium-term production issues and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Operate the Tailings Storage Facility.
• Review and improve standards and safe operating procedures for processing tasks.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in plant performance.
• Maintain Processing Operations personnel competencies and authorisations in line with Training Needs Analysis, contributing to development of training plans.
• Manage skill distribution within crews to ensure supervision, training and permits are provided.
• Lead people management including recruitment, performance management and development.
• Foster a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with Covalent's values.
• Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills for effective communication across the organisation.
• Build organisational capability to deliver the processing operations budget.
• Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, regulators, government and stakeholders, and resolve issues as they arise.

• Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering and/or trade qualification is desired but not essential
• Certificate IV in Frontline Leadership desired but not essential
• Valid driver's license
• First Aid certificate
• WA Radiation Safety qualifications desirable but not essential
• 5+ years in fixed plant processing, including at least 2 years supervisory/leadership experience
• Experience in hard rock lithium processing desirable but not essential
• Processing knowledge in crushing, dense medium separation, milling, flotation; familiarity with wet tailings storage facilities
• Experience in commissioning and delivering operational improvement projects, but not essential
• Demonstrated problem solving and solution implementation in a multi-discipline team environment
• SCADA and DCS experience desired but not essential
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in remote and/or arid environmental conditions
