Location of Position

MDH - Caroline County Health Department, 403 S. 7th Street, Denton, MD 21629

Main Purpose of Job

This is a shared position between the Assessment Evaluation and Review Services (AERS) and Medical Adult Day Care (MADC) programs. The role involves providing social work services within the AERS unit to assist clients in remaining at home or undergoing evaluations in healthcare or living facilities. Additionally, the position offers direct social worker services to clients enrolled in MADC and supports enrollment of new clients into the program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners, based on licensing requirements for Social Workers.
  • Experience: Two years of clinical social work experience in a healthcare or treatment setting after earning an approved Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. Military service experience at the rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher in Social Work classifications or related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications
  1. Must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker, Clinical, by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment. Applicants without a license may apply and must submit a copy upon receipt.
  2. Must possess a valid operator's license in Maryland if duties include operating a vehicle.
Selection Process

Applicants meeting minimum qualifications will undergo further evaluation, which may include rating of application materials. Complete and accurate information is essential, including education, experience, and work hours. Foreign credentials require evaluation for equivalency. Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of applications. The eligible list may be used for similar positions within state agencies for at least one year.
