About The Role

We are seeking a Field Embryologist with a background in embryology or reproductive sciences to join our team. The role involves delivering high-quality bovine embryo production services in the field and collaborating with research teams to commercialize new technologies.

This fast-paced, scale-up environment requires managing quality outcomes aligned with our vision. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work across the business to produce excellent results for our diverse clients. The position involves frequent travel across regional and rural Australia and offers opportunities to develop embryology skills further.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working with OPU technicians on farms to collect oocytes and deliver them to the IVF lab.
  • Searching and classifying oocytes on farm and recording data accurately.
  • Performing Level 1 lab tasks related to in vitro embryo production.
  • Handling genetic material, including storage and data management.
  • Thawing and loading vitrified embryos for transfer.
  • Maintaining compliance with Quality Management Systems.
  • Assisting with inventory management.
  • Promoting positive customer relations and workplace safety.

This position is based at Freeway Office Park, Eight Mile Plains.

Selection Criteria

Knowledge:

  • In vitro embryo production, preferably bovine.
  • Understanding of IETS standards.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems.

Skills:

  • Oocyte selection and classification post-OPU.
  • Thawing and assessing vitrified embryos in the field.
  • Handling genetic materials like semen and embryos.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management, and data analysis tools.

Experience:

  • Commercial IVP embryo production in livestock or human industries.
  • Research collaboration and activities.
  • Laboratory and inventory management experience.

Qualifications:

Degree in veterinary, animal, embryology, or reproductive sciences (highly desirable) with relevant experience.
