The Creative team at MECCA is offering an exciting 12-month fixed term contract opportunity for a Senior Art Director to join the team. This role will be integral in shaping the visual identity of MECCA, leading art direction across large-scale campaigns, still life and product imagery for both motion and stills for print and digital roll-out across social and digital channels.

The Role You Could Play

As a Senior Art Director, you will drive the creative vision, working across all aspects of campaign ideation, on-set direction, and post-production. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to produce engaging, high-quality content that aligns with MECCA's brand aesthetic and values. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute creative concepts across all visual content, from social assets to large-scale campaigns for OOH. This could be through photographic motion solves or unique/artistic/animated aesthetic.
  • Oversee art direction for still life and product imagery, ensuring consistency with MECCA's brand identity.
  • Collaborate on campaign ideation, own on-set direction, and the full creative development process through to post-production.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring seamless execution of photoshoots and other creative projects.
  • Present to stakeholders across the business, including LT and ELT.
  • Manage large budgets across all projects, working closely with the Producer to pitch concepts that are within budgets. Proven experience with managing shoots on a budget is required.
  • Lead a team of creatives such as Art Directors, Producers, and Videographers.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, ideal for a creative leader who is passionate about beauty, art, storytelling through visuals and fashion/trends/cultural zeitgeist.

What You Will Bring:

We're looking for a highly creative and strategic thinker who will be a guardian of MECCA's visual DNA, ensuring brand consistency across all creative outputs. You'll collaborate with teams across Design, Content, and Social to bring our brand to life while staying ahead of trends in beauty, fashion, and culture.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide a high-performing team.
  • A creative and adaptable mindset, balancing hands-on design work with administrative tasks.
  • 6+ years' experience in Agency, Brand, Magazine, or Freelance environments.
  • A tertiary qualification in Visual Communications, Art Direction, Digital Media, Photography, Styling, or similar.
  • Technical expertise in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, and Microsoft Office.
  • A sharp eye for storytelling through rich, textural imagery, photography, and videography.
  • Experience collaborating with social media teams, creating content for Paid Media and digital platforms like TikTok.
  • Agility in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple evolving projects with last-minute changes.
  • Exceptional project management and time management skills, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining creative excellence.
  • A genuine passion for beauty, retail, and cultural industries that inspire MECCA's creative direction.
