Join Gold Fields as a Geotechnical Engineer Vacation Student for hands-on mining experience and professional growth in Perth.

Your Role

Here's what you will be doing:

  • Participate in the Gold Fields Vacation Program from December 2025 to February 2026
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in underground and open pit operations
  • Receive role-specific training at one of four operational mine sites
  • Work on a 5 days on, 2 days off roster in the Perth office or an 8 days on, 6 days off 12-hour shift roster on site
  • Learn from an international team of experienced professionals
  • Contribute to safe, responsible mining practices and support environmental and community initiatives
About You

The company is looking for:

  • Students currently in at least their second year of Engineering or related tertiary studies (may include Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geotechnical, Soil & Rock Mechanics)
  • Holders of a C Class Manual Driver's License or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to obtain National Police Clearance
  • Exposure or experience in a mining environment is highly regarded
  • Tech-savvy, quick learner, and team player
  • Comfortable working in remote locations; underground experience is a bonus but not essential
