Retail Assistant

Permanent, Part Time, Term Time contract

Monday to Friday 6.30am - 2.00pm

St Hilda's School is seeking to appoint an experienced Retail Assistant to work in the Food Retail Outlet (School Cafeteria).

Applicants for the above position must have a strong commitment to safe working practices and be able to function as part of a team. Experience in retail sales, a commitment to excellent customer service and a Food Safety Supervisor's Statement of Attainment for the required competencies are advantages. Knowledge of Point-of-Sale Systems essential.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current Paid Blue Card
  • Current Driver's License
  • This role must be performed on school campus due to front facing customer service element with students and staff
  • Must be able to satisfy the physical requirements of the role, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing and lifting
  • Golf buggy training upon commencement for food deliveries
  • Hold or be willing to complete the Food Safety Handlers Course.
  • Barista skills an advantage

Key areas of responsibility

  • Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Jennifer Reeves Cafeteria and Joey's food van in a professional manner
  • Preparation of a range of healthy and nutritious food items
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene
  • Cash handling and use of a point-of-sale system.

The successful applicant must have their name submitted to the Anglican Church's Professional Standards Register and be able to support the Anglican ethos and Code of Conduct of St Hilda's School.
