Overview

Analyst/ Senior Analyst Responsible Investments role at CareSuper. Join the Investments team and contribute to the Responsible Investment program and ESG integration.

Responsibilities
  • Make a significant contribution to the activities of the Responsible Investment team and support the Responsible Investment strategy and work program.
  • Initiate investment research on ESG issues to support the investment program.
  • Provide ESG input into the research and due diligence of investment opportunities, investment managers and products.
  • Contribute to new manager due diligence and regular reviews of existing investment managers with emphasis on ESG integration.
  • Assist with the implementation and operation of ESG-related systems or software.
  • Contribute to the Stewardship program by identifying priority focus areas for the program.
  • Undertake research and analysis at a sophisticated level for the Sustainable Balanced Option investment strategy.
  • Complete ESG-related surveys and interactions, and work to improve responses to achieve strong industry ratings and assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of papers and presentations for Board, IC and Research Meetings on ESG-related issues.
  • Assist in meeting regulatory obligations, e.g., Modern Slavery, climate reporting, and ESG-related regulatory requirements as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in an investment management function at a superannuation fund, asset owner, investment manager, or closely related business.
  • A thorough understanding of financial instruments, investment markets, ESG principles and their application within an investment program.
  • Experience working with or developing internal ESG data systems.
  • Extensive experience analysing ESG-related risks and opportunities in an investment context.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience contributing to external reporting.
  • A strong understanding of the superannuation industry.
  • A collegiate approach with characteristics suitable to working inclusively in a small team.
  • A degree in finance or related discipline; postgraduate studies in sustainability, CFA or similar professional qualification will be considered favorable.
