About the role

Northern Star has opportunities for experienced Fixed Plant Boilermakers to join our world-class operations at Jundee, Thunderbox and Carosue Dam, with a preference to work FIFO from Perth on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. The Fixed Plant Boilermaker reports to the Mechanical Supervisor. The primary role is to ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled boilermaker maintenance activities for the Process Plant are properly planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled boilermaker maintenance activities for the Process Plant are properly planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Take a leading role during shutdowns to execute plans and monitor work quality to ensure reliability of equipment.
  • Maintain statutory records for all equipment in the fixed plant and uphold safety, seeking to eliminate or control injury and/or equipment damage risks.
  • Create work requests in Pronto based on inspections with appropriate priorities and review/update drawings/design details.
  • Receive and discuss daily instructions from Supervisor and Leading Hand.

  • Experience: Previous boilermaker experience in the mining industry; ability to work unsupervised with high attention to detail and strong communication skills. A demonstrated commitment to teamwork and safety is highly regarded.
  • Qualifications: Current C Class Australian Drivers Licence and a relevant Australian Recognised Trade Qualification.
